Cursory: The Citawhego were one of the original powers who colonized the galaxy. They used gene splicing to optimize colonists for worlds other factions found uninhabitable. The Citawhego mysteriously withdrew from their territory for reasons unknown and have had no contact with the rest of the galaxy for (thousands?) of years. Abandoned Citawhego territory was claimed by other factions, and nNull formed from within it. However, many of their worlds were not considered worth reclaiming for various reasons, and these were left cut off from wider civilization. These are known as the Lost Worlds.

The hook for season two includes the possibility that the Citawhego are returning to the Milky Way after their long absence, reawakening secrets that were lost to time.
