The party join a stream with Bird, and Care attempts a stunt that he hopes will rocket him to notoriety.

Synopsis

Care gets in touch with Bird and pitches an idea to her - in order to make it in the IZC, the party should join in her industry, and stream their mech missions. Bird is on board, and she and Care come up with a plan to catapult him to fame. Bird and her group are about to have a informal competition with Cavalier Caspar, another poplar streamer. They will both be deployed on a Molten Legion front line, and are going to compete to see who performs better. Cares group will join in, and Care will make his debut by stealing The Expedited, the luxury custom mech Caspar earned by winning Joust a couple years ago.

The party prepares for the mission, but are anxious - Honest disappeared during their downtime and has not returned or contacted them. But they can't put this off, so they send Honest the coordinates of their mission and set off.

The front line has fallen in an abandoned city, and there are plenty of enemies for all of them. Bird and Caspar both engage the enemy. Shortly after the fighting begins, Honest shows up on the scene in Eternity, followed by a new friend in a Molten Legion mech. They introduce him as Fain, and say they will explain later, but he is on their side. Honest and Fain join the fray, pushing the numbers well in Bird's favor.

Care goes after the Expedited on foot. He manages to climb onto the frame, but Caspar notices and tries to shake him off. When that doesn't work, Caspar pulls out a trump card - external countermeasures, which send an electric current over the outside of the mech. Care is hurt but manages to hold on, and uses his tools to short The Expedited's systems and open the cockpit. When he tries to pull Caspar from the cockpit, Caspar shoots Care in the stomach before Care can incapacitate him. After a brutal struggle, Care manages to stun Caspar and pulls him from the cockpit. Then, he addresses Caspar's live stream audience, who have witnessed the entire thing. He removes his helmet and introduces himself as Cardinal Merit - yes, that one. Come watch his streams!
